Maternity! On leave until July 1, 2013

Posted on April 30, 2013

I’m posting today to let you know that as of May 1, 2013, I will be relinquishing my normal business hours in favor of “resting up” and awaiting the arrival of “Baby M.” He is due to be born May 18, and with the nature of the arrival of babies being unpredictable, I feel that it is best to not schedule deadlines or commitments in the months of May or June. I will still be monitoring email and covering ongoing commitments as I am able, and doing everything I can to maintain communication with every one of you, though I expect that at some points there may be delays in my responses. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause - and invite you to share the joy I will be experiencing being a new mom to a long-awaited baby boy.

I plan on a full-time, committed return on Monday, July 1 2013. With the help of close, nearby relatives and my business being located at home already (and even better availability from my husband beginning July 1) I expect to be able to be able to return full-steam, even itching to get back to work. I love the work I do - it’s a constant challenge of creative puzzles and execution that stays engaging without help from outside influences or classical “perks.” Actually, until this baby comes (and maybe even after - I don’t know! I’ve never done all this before) I wonder if I’ll be too bored to stay away from the desk. It’s for this reason that I can stay committed to monitoring communication and consulting with you while going through this amazing transformation. I may even do internal projects or small fixes to your sites - but nothing project-oriented until July, please.

If you’re planning on scheduling work with me in July, do not wait to email or contact me. July is quickly filling up, and some new projects may be seeing an August timeframe for kick-off at this point.

Thank you, as always, for your interest in my work and for trusting me with your website!
